Antique Forbes Silver Plate Jewel Box, Cherubs, Roses, C-1890-1900
This is an early silk lined jewelry box, C-1890-1900. The box is made by the Forbes Company. The box is silver plate. The lid of the box features a young girl at the top of the stairs being sung to by a chap with a mandolin at the base of the stairs. There are large blown out roses on the box. The piece is very Nouveau in style. The interior looks like it has been relined at some point. The box measures 6-1/2″ across and about 3-1/2″ tall. The silver plating is in good condition.
